Welcome! Your hosts are Mark and Debbie who run Sycamore Cottage & Glamping from their Northumberland farm.
Since 2004 they have been keen to provide accommodation on the family farm. After dipping their toes in hospitality with Sycamore Cottage, it was decided that luxury glamping would work best alongside the traditionally run hill farm.
In 2020 the pods arrived, they are situated in an enviable location with wide panoramic views over Hadrian’s Wall, into the North Pennines and beyond.
2022 saw the very exciting arrival of The Black Hut, a bespoke design and in its own secluded grounds. It is an amazing spot for outdoor bathing and watching the sunset.
Your experience with Sycamore Cottage & Glamping will be special, from the electronic guest guide to the little touches that make your stay unique you will feel at home. If you have a special occasion do get in touch, your hosts will work with you to make it extra special.
Third generation livestock farmers your hosts live on the farm with their three children. The farm consists predominantly of cows and sheep, however there is always a dog, hen or even a pony looking over the fence or at your door to welcome you to your pod.

The Local Area
Of course there are the endless attractions for visitors in the area, more information can be found here. Alternatively relax in your pod and enjoy the views across Northumberland National Park towards the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty…. simply breath-taking. Take time at night to appreciate the dark skies of Northumberland sitting next to your own fire pit and contrast these with the subtle glow of the urban area of Tyneside. We experience the most magical moons and star gazing, with planets sometimes being visible with the naked eye.
*We do need to reinforce that we are a working farm and there will be machinery operating at times which can be dangerous, therefore respectfully request that guests do not approach the farm or enter fields unaccompanied or without permission from the owners.
Things to do
The pods offer walks and cycling directly from the door and offer the perfect opportunity to explore a multitude of outdoor activities for couples and families who want to immerse themselves into the area with fishing and climbing all accessible within a few minutes from the pods; many more activities are short drive away including high ropes, golf (including a driving range), kayaking and sailing, horse riding and astronomy. Or why not take a full day out with local adventure seeking company Wild About Adventure, for fun adapted to all ages.
